Angela Sonn who lives in Ross-on-Wye and runs with Forest of Dean Athletic Club has won a gold and two silver medals competing in the British Masters Athletics Championship which were held in the Alexander Stadium Birmingham over the weekend of the 24th and 25th of June.
Angela competes in the FV55 category (women aged 55-59 inclusive) where she specialises in the 100 to 400m distances. This year she took the gold medal in the 400m distance with a time of 74.99 and silver medals in both the 100m with a time of 14.94 and the 200m with a time of 31.59.
She will now go on to represent Great Britain in the European Masters Athletics Championships to be held in Denmark in July and August this year where she is competing in the same three events and possibly the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
If successful, she then hopes to compete in the World Masters Athletics Championships in Malaga Spain next year.
