Collect numbers at registration on the night
Arrive any time from 6:00 – PLEASE car share wherever possible
Race Briefing 7:00 in the pub car park

Location:- Red Hart Inn, Velthouse Lane, Blaisdon, Longhope GL17 0AH
Cut-off: 90 minutes.
You must reach 5k by 8pm (45 minutes after start)
Course:
The course is fully certified and measured by AUKCM. It is an out and back route along quiet country lanes. It will be well marshalled with distance markers every Km.
Car Parking:
Please car share where possible.
We are lucky enough to have the use of Blaisdon Nurseries which is just down the hill from the Red Hart Inn & on the other side of the road.
Please park there so as not to block up the village, the pub or the race route. It is a 5 minute walk at most.
It will be signed & marshalled.
Race registration:
Will open shortly after 6pm in the pub garden.
We will be using reusable chips to record finish times.
The race will be Gun to Chip as we do not have a closed road start so cannot lay mats across the whole road. Your number and shoe tag will be issued as you register.
The team will issue you with a number for your vest & a reusable chip to be worn on your shoes. Please view the attached link to the web page for shoe tag fitting instructions. Please return the chip once you are finished.
Please bring your own safety pins.
Race Briefing:
7:00pm in the pub garden
KEEP LEFT when running on the road as it is an out & back course on quiet but narrow lanes which will be open to cars/tractors/cyclists & horses.
NO HEADPHONES It is vital that you can hear warnings from marshals or fellow runners.
Anyone wearing them will be DISQUALIFIED.
There are 2 right turns on the way out. DO NOT CUT THE CORNER in case you meet an oncoming vehicle.
Run round the cone/marshal at Gunn’s Mill.
The race route is on a tarmac surface, but there may be some uneven patches/minor potholes so take care.
Save a bit for the finish, it’s uphill from the old railway bridge to the pub & you’ll want to look good in the photos 😉
There will be a lead bike, 2 tail runners + a mobile first aider with defibrillator & a sweep car.
There will also be a first aider at Race HQ (pub garden)
Start:
7:15pm from outside the pub
Refreshments:
Water will be available at the 5K turnaround at Gunn’s Mill & at the finish.
The pub serves excellent beer, cider, wine and soft drinks.
There will also be a BBQ for hot dogs & burgers round the back of the pub where there is another bar so less queuing
Finish:
Back where you started – at the pub 😁
Be sure to return your shoe tag – we will track you down else 😉 Once you have recovered, please clear the road to allow traffic through. You’ll get a drink quicker too
Results & prizes:
Timing will be gun to chip.
Results & prizes will be processed as soon as possible once the last runner is in. Subject to good internet coverage, live results can also be viewed by following the attached URL information.
Prize-giving will be in the garden at about 9:15pm
There will be prizes (biscuits or bottle) for 1st , 2nd & 3rd Male & Female plus 1st Male & Female in 10 year age categories
There is also a prize for 1st Male & Female teams based on top 4 positions.
Gloucestershire Road Race Championship medals will be awarded accordingly.
