Weekend Update – Oxford Half Marathon and Mendip Muddle

Oxford Half Marathon

With the autumn half marathon season well under way, several members of Forest of Dean AC traveled to Oxford to join 8000 others to run around the city’s sites. The weather was good for distance running, with cool temperatures, sunny spells and a slight breeze.  The course is virtually flat, making good times possible.  The winner was Paul Whittaker of Southend AC in 1.07.18.  First FODAC finisher was Greg Nash in 1.33.44, followed by Chris Moore in 1.42.59 and Patrick Rennison 1.43.52. First lady finisher was Molly Brown of the BRAT Club in 1.21.14.  First FODAC wench was Helen Lipscomb in 1.43.23, then Rachel Nash 1.49.24 and Kate Burke 1.50.18. .

Other times: Alan Robertson 1.49.19; Stef Francis 1.56.03; Gemma Hewitt 2.02.23; Claire Morgan 2.04.07; Debbie White 2.32.04 and Claire Lavander 2.35.12.

Mendip Muddle

Two other members tackled the Mendip Muddle: 12 miles over the Mendip Hills with 420m of climbing.  Dan Sandford was first of these to finish: 16th in 1.33.26, with Graham James completing in 2.09.41.
