Weekend Roundup – October 1st and 2nd

Cardiff Half Marathon

It  was a busy weekend for Forest of Dean AC runners, with members taking part in several different events.  18 took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon, where both men’s and women’s course records were broken.  John Russell was first FODAC to finish, 220th out of around 16000 in 1.23.16.  Next was Richard Pegler, 294th in 1.25.35 and Mark Channer, 731st in 1.31.52.  Kate Burke was first lady in 1.52.30, followed by Karen Barnett 1.59.49 and Vanessa Pegler 2.02.48.  Other results: Andrew Kaye 1.35.16; Rob Freeman 1.37.57; Patrick Rennison 1.41.53; Lee Osbourne 1.52.44; Andy Breeze 1.58.38; Wayne Stewart 2.07.30; Vicky Simms 2.06.24; Chloe Powles 2.08.46; Spike Powles 2.08.47; Sally Turner 2.25.45; Jenny Hodgson 2.35.10 and Jo Ablett 2.55.00.

Badminton Horse-Less Trials!

Over in the Cotswolds, Helen Lipscomb and Chris Moore ran a half marathon over part of the Badminton Horse Trials course including jumps and splashing through lakes.  They finished together in 1.49.29 with Helen first lady finisher.

 

Masters 10 mile championships

In Rugby, Jacqui Wynds ran in the Masters 10 mile championships, winning the F60 category in a pb of 1.23.35.

 

Bournemouth Marathon and HM

In Bournemouth, Neville Turner completed the Marathon in 4.34.14.  Suzanne Peters finished the half marathon in a pb of 1.57.12 and Sheralyn Turner completed it in 2.30.00.
