The final meeting of the County Championships were held at the Prince of Wales Stadium, Cheltenham on August 27th. The featured events were 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays, Jubilee Mile and 10,000m. A number of Forest of Dean junior runners came away with medals. U13 girls and U11 girls became 4 x 100m champions, and U17 boys and U20 men became 4 x 400m champions. In the junior mile races, Cameron Francis won the U11 boys race, with William Compton 2nd and Harrison Coppen 3rd. Edward Leech was 2nd in the U13 boys race.
In the senior and veterans mile races, Peter Woodward was 2nd in the senior men, smashing his pb in the process. Julian Boon was 2nd M40; Stef Francis 2nd F45; Richard Dennant 3rd M50 and Alan Robertson 1st and Chris Moore 3rd M60s. Dave Lowthian was 3rd M45, and Richard Dennant 3rd M50 in the 10,000m. Roy King, Darren Creed, Glenn Harvey and Richard Dennant were 1st in the Vets 4 x 100m relay.
