Track & Field Roundup

Forest of Dean AC has been well represented at Track and Field events recently, especially in throwing events, with the coaching of Darren Andrews resulting in good performances.  These events include Cheltenham & County Harriers Midsummer Open Meetings on 24th & 31st July and the Avon League on 4th August.
The best performances at these meetings were:  100m Angela Sonn 15.90s.  In the hammer: Helen Kearsey 23.05m; Sarah James 21.33m; Heather Jones 21.13m; Kathy Russell 16.50m; Darren Andrews 30.07m; Frank Russell 18.07m; Andrew Compton 16.59m; and Peter Compton 14.93m.  In the shot: Darren Andrews 8.64m; Peter Compton 6.16m; Andrew Compton 5.72m; Helen Kearsey 6.41m; Heather Jones 6.33m and Sarah James 5.18m.  Helen Kearsey also threw 15.23m in the javelin.
