This annual 10 mile multi-terrain race with 1500 feet of climbing, attracted the most runners in its history this year, with 154 runners tackling “the Beast”. It was also the latest round of Forest of Dean AC’s Club Championship and 14 members took part.
Peter Woodward was the first of these to finish: 6th in 1:07:54, followed by Daren Smith 1:12:47 and James Dobbing 1:13:13. First lady was Stef Francis 1:42:15, with Vanessa Pegler next 1:52:43 and Jo Babij 1:56:45. Other times were John Russell 1:14:22; Julian Boon 1:16:00; Dan Sandford 1:17:51; Scott Berry 1:21:08; Chris Moore 1:31:24; Michael Marks 1:42:20; Chris Hawkins 1:45:32 and Mike Melhuish 1:46:51.
The winner was Martin Barford of Chichester in 1:04:00 and first lady was Niki Morgan of Chepstow Harriers in 1:16:08.
