With another w/e free of championship races FoDAC athletes were out & about again.
Saturday saw several of us run the 5.75 mile Coity Fell Race organised by Pontypool Runners. First FoDAC athlete was Dan Sandford (43:13) in 6
th place of 71 runners and 1st MV40. Hot on his heels in 7th & 1st Female was recently returned Helen Brown (44:23). Other times were Jules 48:04, Chris Moore 52:14, Alan Robertson 52:41, Jacqui Wynds 60:26, Jo Edwards 60:40 & Stefanie Francis 61:59.
Meanwhile in Snowdonia Mark Channer (pictured) was tackling 26.2 miles of hills & trails in the Salomon Trail Marathon Wales, run over trails and tracks of the Coed y Brenin forest in the Snowdonia National Park. . He finished 193rd in 4:56:33
Sunday saw Sue Shergold & Margaret Powles in action on the Cheltenham Challenge. A very hilly 2 lap marathon around Cheltenham from the race course up to the top of Cleeve Hill & back. All their hard work & training paid off with Sue (10th F) finishing in 4:11:18 whilst Margaret finished in 4:49:02.
