Mallard’s Pike 5 mile – May 20th

FODAC hosted their first open event of the season Mallards Pike 5 Mile this is an annual evening race and the weather this year was perfect for runners and spectators. There were a number of different classes, with the main race being for the Seniors, with races also for the Canicross members who had an additional 5K Minicross . The Junior section which is running 2 laps of the lake had races for under 9/11/13/15 age groups.

john hamiltonThe Senior race attracted 71 runners a number of those being other clubs but the Forest runners dominated with a brilliant run by young athlete John Hamilton [ pictured] who won in a time of 29.59 followed by fellow FODAC Dan Sanford in 30.18 and  3rd was Jack Fleet, another of the club’s talented youngsters in 30.35.

The first lady to finish was Caroline Jones in 31.18, 2nd was Gemma Collier of Gloucester AC in 32.13 and 3rd was FODAC runner Sherryl Hall in 35.20
