CRANHAM BEAST / DADDY AUGUST 10TH
It seems all races took to the Cotswold Way this weekend. Cotswold Allrunners had their “Beast” weekend with Sunday’s race “the Daddy”, which is a 17 mile trail run taking the runners through Witcombe and up Coopers Hill: as any cheese roller will confirm a very steep ascent. FODAC runner Dan Sanford was a very creditable 3rd in a time of 2.34.40.
STANDISH WOODLAND CHASE – AUGUST 10th
Further along the Cotswold Way, Stroud AC were holding their annual Standish Woodland Chase. Again this is a multi-terrain race of 10 miles with some steep hills included. Forest runners Liz Usedon and Jacqui Wynds braved the deluge and mud.
First man home was Simon Campbell of Cirencester AC in 1.01.06 and first lady was Helen Sharpe of Bristol & west in 1.05.58.
Liz finished in 1.28.09 & Jacqui in 1.31.23.
