The May bank holiday weekend saw particular success for FODAC runners in a series of races.
* Four FODAC runners took part the Steam Bunny Stomp fell race in Pontypool. The race incorporates some challenging ascents and descents over the 6.9 mile course with 1,466 foot of climbs in total earning runners some stunning views across the Bristol Channel.
All four FODAC members had success in their age categories with Stefanie Francis winning second place in the FV50 class, Liselette Adams taking second place in the FV40 class, Michael Marks taking third place in MV50 and Chris Hawkins winning a prize in the MV60 age category.
* Elsewhere Forest runners took on Run the River, a 15k race on a two loop course along the River Avon with all being awarded age category prizes. Melinda Ruck was first place in the FV40 age category in a time of 1:37, Lee Kibble second place in the SM category with a time of 1:07, Claire Morgan took first place in FV50 in 1:40 followed by Jane Van Soest-Smith in third place with 1:55. Daren Smith took third place in MV50 in a time of 1:37.
* Locally, Andy Raynor took part in the OMM Forest of Dean marathon and finished in 7th place overall in a time of 3:50:12. A fantastic achievement in challenging conditions on the day.
