Severn Bridge Half Marathon

The third running of the Severn Bridge Half Marathon was held over a different course this year, caused by road works on part of the original route.  This year saw the runners complete two complete crossings of both the Wye & Severn Bridges and two out-and-back sections: one in England and one in Wales. 2500 runners registered with 34 coming from Forest of Dean AC.  The winner was Phil Matthews of Swansea Harrier in 1.14.42. First lady was Katherine Matthews of Chepstow Harriers in 1.24.47.

The first three FODAC lady finishers, Cherry Fowler 1.42.30, Sherryl Hall 1.42.30 and Melinda Ruck 1.43.00 were third ladies team overall.  Andrew Kaye was FODAC first male to finish in  1.36.43, followed by Greg Nash 1.37.38 and Mark Channer 1.38.00.
