Cotswold Way Relay
The 24th annual Cotswold Way Relay was held on 25th June. It covers 103 miles between Chipping Campden & Bath Abbey, and is a relay of teams of 10 runners covering between 8 & 12 miles with many feet of climbing. This year the 100 teams took part including 4 from Forest of Dean AC.
The first of these to finish was the Forest Boar, a team of veterans (over 40s), finishing 5th in their category in 13hrs 50m 51s. Top ten finish were by Daren Smith 6th and Ian Smith 7th. Next came a mixed team of men & ladies, Forest Deer, in 16:27:55 and 20th in class. Forest Squirrels, another veterans team, finished in 16:52:17 and 21st in class, with the all-ladies team, Forest Sheep, 12th in class in 17:15:14. The overall winners were a team from Cheltenham & County Harriers in 11:48:37.
