A busy weekend for FODAC members as they competed in a number of events in the area (and afar).
First off was Kate Frost who competed in the ChillSwim Conniston in the lake district a grueling 5.25 mile open water swim. Kate completed it successfully in 3:40
On Sunday a large contingent of FODAC members competed in the Breinton 10m held in Hereford. Some great results were recorded in particular for the ladies. See separate post for full details and pictures.
A small group of the green and white army – Graham Bennetto, Marcus Bennetto, Wendy Lawrence, Eva Goodhead, Ivan Woodward – took part in the Ross 10K. The Ross 10k and Fun Run were started in 2011 to raise money for Acorns, the Children’s Hospice Charity, and to date over £5,000.00 has been raised by the event. Every penny of the registration fees goes directly to Acorns.
Results were Marcus(43:17) in 11th, Ivan (48:18) in 40th, Graham (53:06) in 60th, Eva (59:36) in 89th, Wendy (1:07:59) in 128th.
Pete Woodward competed in the Maidenhead Half Marathon finishing 22nd in 1:18:31.
The Wentwood Woodlark was the destination for our next set of runners. Organised by Chepstow Harriers and described as a “challenging off-road race of approximately 8 miles – It will be hilly, muddy, scenic and with stunning views”
First in for FODAC was Dan Sandford (1:01:05)in 13th, followed by Helen Brown (1:02:49) who was first lady overall in 16th. Next in was Graham James (1:20:29) in 50th, Peter Short (1:24:09) in 60th, Jacqui Wynds (1:32:03 ) in 73rd who also had the honor of being 2nd in FV60 category.
And in other news…..
Tales of screaming women running from a naked man at this weeks Parkrun have been grossly exagerated.
