Cheltenham Harriers’ Midsummer Open Athletics

This annual series of 4 track & field competitions had now been completed.  There were a number of excellent performances by Forest of Dean AC juniors.  The senior results were dominated by Chris Penny and he improved his times in many of the distances.  He was also first in the age category in most of these.  His best times were 150m 20:42; 200m 20:73; 300m 43:46; 600m 1:37.02; 800m 2:10.80; 1500m 4:42.85; mile 4:57.30 & 3000m 10:18.82.  He was joined by Angela Sonn: 100m 16.7 and 200m 33.74; Helen Kearsey: hammer 22.92m and Heather Jones: hammer 23.71 and shot 6.47.
