San Domenico RC took over Chepstow Harrier’s Rose Inn course to stage the 2013 Relays. The weather was warm but calm with 65 teams, 10 from Forest of Dean AC, competing. Each team was made up of 3 runners, each completing a lap of just under 2 miles.
The winning team from Fairwater Runners finished in 29:50, with the team of Leyton 
Fleet, John Russell and Daren Smith finishing as the first from Forest of Dean, and 3rd MV40+, in 33:23. Next Forest Team was Mark Mathews, Chris Perry and Richard Powles, 17th in 35:30. Callum Francis, Josh Mathews and Jack Fleet were 20th overall and 1st Junior Men’s Team. Other results from Forest teams are: 22nd MV40 36:15; 30th Flyers 37:13; 32nd Senior Men B 37:30; 34th Deep Fried Mars Bars; 55th Forest Oaks 45:44; 57th Forest Hares 46:26 and 61st Forest Tortoises 49:54. Next year, it is planned to run the relays in April & September, so get training.
