A glorious evening saw 18 FoDAC athletes turn out for this fast 5K.
The course is a simple loop on road around the race course finishing with 300m on the track behind the leisure centre. There is a small, but significant, climb for the first 600m but thereafter it’s downhill to the finish. This resulted in some very fast times with lots of PBs. First back was Pete Woodward 6th in 17:17 & first FoDAC lady was Lynne Park in 24:16. Other notable times & PBs for James Dobbing(14th) 18:17, Leyton Fleet(15th) 18:20, Marcus Bennetto(20th) 18:46 & Daren Smith (21st) 18:47.
Alan Robertson (20:14) & Chris Moore (21:35) also achieved 5K PBs.
Other finishers were Jules Boon, Dave Lowthian, Mark Blake, Walter Leach, Ian Morgan, the Francis family: Brian, Stef & Callum, Jackie Green & Graham Bennetto.
The next in the series is on May 7th when hopefully we’ll have an even larger contingent with a few more ladies.
