Gwent XC League, Race 5 Blaise Castle

The final round of the Gwent League Cross-Country series for 2013/4 was held at Blaise Castle, Bristol on March 1st.  The Forest of Dean AC’s men’s A Team finished 3rd in Div 4 on the day & 3rd over the whole series. If they had had a full team at Pontypool they would probably have been promoted.
The ladies finished first in division 3 at Blaise Castle: the first time they had fielded a team this season. 
Overall, the men were 24/67 on the day & finished 38/116 in the league. Vets were 10/46 on the day & finished 18/73 in the league. Individual results: John Russell 41:43; Daren Smith 42:28; Simon Dimmer 43:08; Julian Boon 43:36; Walter Leach 47:04; Alan Robertson 48:01 and Chris Moore 49:11, after 5:74 miles.  The ladies race was held over 3 miles with Ann Nixon finishing in 21:44; Kim Chester 25:36; Jackie Green 26:29; Stef Francis 27:02; Anna Freeman 28:14; Kate Frost 29:00 and Jo Babij 29:59.
