what you can expect from the club
The Club will endeavour to provide a friendly, relaxed environment
where likeminded individuals can train, compete and socialise together.
Irrespective of ability, whether it be just to exercise for personal
fitness or train for serious competition, we aim to provide advice, guidance
and encouragement to enable you to achieve your own personal goals and
beyond.
It is a club not just for athletes but for anyone with an interest
in the Sport who feels they still have a contribution to make.
For children of primary school age our aim is to introduce them to
the various disciplines of Athletics in a "fun" environment.
We aim to enhance the interest in athletics of secondary school children
and young adults by developing their skills and improving their weaknesses
with the hope they may achieve representative honours for Club, School,
District, County and beyond.
However, above all, we aim to prove that irrespective of age or ability,
athletics is a sport with something to offer everyone.
what is expected of you as a club member
As a Club Member you are expected to abide by the Rules of the Club
and any Codes of Conduct, which may be published from time to time, particularly
with regard to track discipline and etiquette.
The Club also requires a commitment from its members to support its
various activities especially when it comes to competition and fund raising
events.
All athletes must arrive punctually for training sessions. Failure
to arrive within 10 minutes of the start time may result in being unable
to take part in the full range of the evenings activities due to lack
of adequate preparation and warm up.
Further more, young athletes remain a parental responsibility until
the appointed start time of the training session and should not be left
unattended prior to the arrival of the coach in charge.
Similarly young athletes should be collected punctually at the end
of each session as the Club cannot accept responsibility for any person
once training is concluded.
