{"id":6868,"date":"2017-01-16T13:25:18","date_gmt":"2017-01-16T13:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=6868"},"modified":"2017-01-16T13:25:18","modified_gmt":"2017-01-16T13:25:18","slug":"weekend-roundup-17th-and-18th-dec-gloucester-aaa-cross-country-christmas-tree-race","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=6868","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Roundup 17th and 18th Dec &#8211; Gloucester AAA cross-country &#038; Christmas Tree Race"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Gloucester AAA cross-country<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As 2016 comes to an end, it is still busy a busy time for Forest of Dean AC runners.&nbsp; The first event of the weekend was Gloucester AAA cross-country, held at Wotton under Edge.&nbsp; Described as a good course with some energy-sapping mud, lumpy grass, gentle inclines and a ditch, the men completed 4 laps and the ladies 3.&nbsp; The first FODAC finisher in the men\u2019s race was John Hamilton, 24<sup>th<\/sup> and 5<sup>th<\/sup> MU20, followed closely by Alex Lindfield in 27<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; Ian Smith was 56<sup>th<\/sup>, Julian Boon 85<sup>th, <\/sup>&nbsp;Mick Strange 104<sup>th<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> MV60, and Peter Woodward 107<sup>th<\/sup>. These made up the men\u2019s team who were placed 7<sup>th<\/sup>.&nbsp; In the ladies race, Catherine Roberts was 33<sup>rd<\/sup> and Sherryl Hall 51<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Glos-aaa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6869\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Glos-aaa.jpg\" srcset=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Glos-aaa.jpg 640w, http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Glos-aaa-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Christmas Tree Race<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The main event for the club was the hosting of the annual Christmas Tree Race, starting and ending at Ellwood football club. .
