{"id":6707,"date":"2016-09-20T08:06:50","date_gmt":"2016-09-20T07:06:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=6707"},"modified":"2016-09-20T08:06:50","modified_gmt":"2016-09-20T07:06:50","slug":"weekend-roundup-17th-and-18th-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=6707","title":{"rendered":"Weekend Roundup &#8211; 17th and 18th September"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Forest Autumn Mile<\/h2>\n<p>There were two big events in the Forest of Dean Athletic Calendar this week.\u00a0 The first of these was the running of the Autumn Mile at the track at Five Acres.\u00a0 A total of 89 runners ranging from under to 7 to over 70 ran 4 times round the track to find out how fast they could run the distance.\u00a0 The quickest among the seniors was <strong>Peter Woodward<\/strong> who almost broke 5 minutes, finishing in 5:00.5, followed by <strong>Alexander Lindfield<\/strong> in 5:02.9 and Marcus Bennetto in 5:07.7, all representing FODAC. First lady was <strong>Sam Harris<\/strong> (FODAC) 5:52.9, followed by Chepstow Harriers <strong>Sarah Bell<\/strong> 6:05.3 and <strong>Sherryl Hall<\/strong> (FODAC) 6:06.3.<\/p>\n<h2>Swansea 10K<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/swansea.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6708\" src=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/swansea.jpg\" alt=\"swansea\" width=\"789\" height=\"456\" srcset=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/swansea.jpg 789w, http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/swansea-300x173.jpg 300w, http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/swansea-768x444.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 789px) 100vw, 789px\" \/><\/a><\/h2>\n<p>The other was what has become FODAC&#8217;s annual trip to the seaside, to take part in the Swansea 10k and hopefully enjoy a picnic on the beach.\u00a0 In the junior races, Owen Hall &amp; Izzy Babij were third U11 boy &amp; girl respectively over 1k. In the main race,\u00a01st Forester and first in the Senior Male category (of FODAC members) was\u00a0<strong>Marcus Bennetto\u00a0in 37:02<\/strong> closely followed by<strong>\u00a0Jack Fleet\u00a0(1st FODAC Junior Male) in 37:06<\/strong>.\u00a0First <strong>M40 was\u00a0John Russell\u00a0in 38:24<\/strong>;<strong> first M50\u00a0Andrew Kaye\u00a0in 42:57; first F45\u00a0Sherryl Hall\u00a0in 44:20;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>first F55\u00a0<strong>Jacqui Wynds\u00a0in 48:43<\/strong>; and now for the drum role &#8211; first M60 was\u00a0<strong>Michael Strange\u00a0(Mick)<\/strong> in an amazing <strong>40:29<\/strong> which put him as 3rd M60 out of 121.<\/p>\n<p>Also a mention for\u00a0Graham Bennetto, who ran what he says will be his\u00a0last race.
