<\/a>Mini-Mountain Marathon – September 19th\/20th 2015 – Brecon Beacons – Black Mountain Area<\/p>\n

The event took place on a beautiful sunny day in the Black Mountain area of the Brecon Beacons, just west of Dan Yr Ogof show caves. This is ideal running terrain in a beautiful and interesting area.<\/p>\n

\"MMM<\/a><\/p>\n

This year they had a 15km Novice course as well as the Long, Short and Score classes. Linear classes (long, short and novice) with a prescribed number of checkpoints to visit and a Score class where you visit as many different checkpoints (of varying points value) as you can within the time allocated. We had 3 club members take part:<\/p>\n

Novice route:<\/p>\n

David + Michael Jenkins Time: 3:57:45 Forest of Dean AC – Distance covered:\u00a012.83 Miles.<\/p>\n

Score route:<\/p>\n

1st<\/span><\/sup> place: Dan Sandford + Richard Newhouse (Chepstow Harriers) 225 points Time: 4:48:42 (5 hour time limit) – Distance: 17.68 Miles<\/p>\n

The map below\u00a0shows the route stations and options. For David and Michael this was their first attempt at a Mountain Marathon, and they choose the novice route and got some good experience under their belts. No doubt they will come back stronger next year. Dan (and Richard) won the score event on Saturday.<\/p>\n
