FODAC hosted their first open event of the season Mallards Pike 5 Mile this is an annual evening race and the weather this year was perfect for runners and spectators. There were a number of different classes, with the main race being for the Seniors, with races also for the Canicross members who had an additional 5K Minicross . The Junior section which is running 2 laps of the lake had races for under 9\/11\/13\/15 age groups.<\/p>\n

\"john<\/a>The Senior race attracted 71 runners a number of those being other clubs but the Forest runners dominated with a brilliant run by young athlete John Hamilton [ pictured] who won in a time of 29.59 followed by fellow FODAC Dan Sanford in 30.18 and \u00a03rd<\/sup> was Jack Fleet, another of the club\u2019s talented youngsters in 30.35.<\/p>\n

The first lady to finish was Caroline Jones in 31.18, 2nd<\/sup> was Gemma Collier of Gloucester AC in 32.13 and 3rd<\/sup> was FODAC runner Sherryl Hall in 35.20<\/p>\n
