The first Hare & Tortoise of the year was held on May 6th, using the parkrun course at Five Acres.\u00a0 Runners are set off at 30s intervals based on their recent 5k times: usually the local parkrun.\u00a0 Provided the handicaping system works correctly, all runners should cross the line together, with the winner being the first to finish.\u00a0 52 Forest of Dean AC members took part, with up to 19 minutes handicap.<\/p>\n
For the first time, the event was won by a male runner with Graham James finishing in a time of\u00a035:29, which converts to an actual run time of 22:59, which would have been a parkrun pb.\u00a0 Second was Lisa Hardiman and third Jim Insall.\u00a0 The fastest run of the night was by John Hamilton 18:01, followed by Jack Fleet 19:31 and James Dobbing 19:47.\u00a0 Several of the runners would have produced parkrun pbs if the race had been official.<\/p>\n
