{"id":2179,"date":"2014-02-09T18:53:13","date_gmt":"2014-02-09T18:53:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2179"},"modified":"2014-02-13T21:37:48","modified_gmt":"2014-02-13T21:37:48","slug":"dursley-dozen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=2179","title":{"rendered":"Dursley Dozen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/DD-2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2184\" alt=\"DD 2014\" src=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/DD-2014.jpg\" width=\"714\" height=\"546\" srcset=\"http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/DD-2014.jpg 714w, http:\/\/fodac.org.uk\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/DD-2014-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Over 400 runners met in Dursley for the 25th running of the Dursley Dozen.\u00a0 This included 25 from Forest of Dean AC; the largest representation from any club present.\u00a0 The race covers 12 miles of trails and hills, with the odd bit of road thrown in, including 2000ft of climbing: one bit so steep a rope is provided to enable the runners to pull themselves up.\u00a0 After the recent wet weather, there was plenty of mud and the strong winds made some of the course particularly hard going.\u00a0 Forest of Dean AC had 8 runners finishing in the top 100.\u00a0 Julian Boon was first of these: 37th in 1:39:16, followed by Peter Woodward 1:39:54; Daren Smith 1:40:48; Mark Mathews 1:41:35 and John Russell 1:42:36.\u00a0 Julian, Daren, Mark and John won the veteran&#8217;s team prize.<br \/>\nFirst lady was Kim Chester 2:08:48, followed by Jacqui Wynds 2:19:02 and 2nd FV60, and Stef Francis 2:23:50.
