Forest of Dean AC’s annual race started and ended at Ellwood Football Club, and covered a slightly longer route than previously.\u00a0 Forestry work had made sure that there was just the right amount of mud to make things harder.\u00a0 About 120 runners and 30 canicrossers took part.
\n\"Ellwood\"<\/a>\u00a0Richard De-Camps<\/strong> (Gloucester AC) repeated his win of 2012, in a time of 34:11, followed by Rob Bowery<\/strong> (Tewkesbury AC) and Leyton Fleet<\/strong> (Forest of Dean AC).
\nVanessa Lawson<\/strong> (Chepstow Harriers) was first lady in 44:19, followed by Kate Goodhead<\/strong> (Bristol & West AC) and Deborah Phelps<\/strong> (Holme Pierpont).\u00a0 Forest of Dean AC had\u00a0a clean sweep of the men’s category awards, with John Russell\u00a0<\/strong>receiving the MV40 award, Bill Turner<\/strong> the MV50 and Chris Moore<\/strong>, the MV60.\u00a0 Rebecca Comins<\/strong> (Chepstow Harriers) won the FV40 award and Alice Lewis<\/strong> (Dursley AC) the FV50.
\nAll finishers received an engraved tumbler, a Christmas Cracker and a cup of hot soup.
\nIn the Canicross race, Ian Littlewood<\/strong> (Cornwall Harriers) won the men’s race and Evita Gonzale-Seamocki<\/strong> (Westbury Harriers) the lady’s.
\nThe winner of the canicross race, Ian Littlewood, commented: “Thank you for putting on a great event which we thoroughly enjoyed.\u00a0 It is a proper cross-country run with various surfaces and terrains and also plenty of technical elements to keep the cani-crossers thinking all the way around.\u00a0 Also plenty of slopes to remind us of Cornwall<\/em>!”<\/p>\n
