The 2013 Championships are now decided.\u00a0 53 men and 33 women took part, compared to 29 and 25 respectively in 2012.\u00a0 In the Men’s Championship, Julian Boon<\/strong> retained his 2012 title, but this year tied with\u00a0Leyton Fleet<\/strong>.\u00a0 Richard Peglar <\/strong>snatched third place ahead of Alan Robertson<\/strong>.\u00a0 In the Women’s Championship, Jacqui Wynds <\/strong>also retained her title, with\u00a0Claire Morgan<\/strong> second and\u00a0Stef Francis <\/strong>third.<\/p>\n

The 2014 Championship should prove interesting.\u00a0 There are several new quick runners, particularly amongst the men, who could provide a challenge to Jools & Leyton.\u00a0 Jools is also taking over the running of the Championship and will be introducing new races for us to tackle.\u00a0 Thank you for competing over the past two years and please give Jools your support in 2014.

Basic Rules<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There will be a separate Championship for men & women.<\/p>\n

The Championship is based on a series of races between January & November in a calendar-year, and will cover a range of distances, terrain and surface. Any officially-timed marathon within the championship period will be included as an additional race and points will be awarded according to finish times.<\/p>\n

All races will count towards Championship.\u00a0 If someone is keen to win the championship and tries to do so by entering every event, then good luck to them.\u00a0 The likelihood is that everyone will miss some races.<\/p>\n

Entry to races is the participant\u2019s responsibility, must be in the participant\u2019s own name and the runner should wear the club vest.<\/p>\n

1st <\/sup>FODAC finisher in specified race to receive 10 points, 2nd<\/sup> 9 and so
\non.\u00a0 If more than 10 finishers, then points awarded will be increased so that everyone receives at least one point.\u00a0 Men and women finishers will be awarded points separately.<\/p>\n

The Champion is the person who has accumulated the most points.<\/p>\n

How it will work:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anyone who competes in ANY of the nominated Championship races will be included in that year\u2019s Championship.\u00a0 There will be no need to declare an interest.<\/p>\n

To assist the verification process competitors must specify
\n‘Forest of Dean AC’ as their club on the race application forms.<\/p>\n

As soon after the race as possible competitors should inform Chris
\nMoore at\u00a01953cjm@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0their\u00a0finish positions, to ensure they receive their points.<\/p>\n

Points will be awarded according to finishing place and Championship
\nstanding will be updated regularly on the Club\u2019s website.\u00a0 Please inform Chris if you believe there to be any errors.<\/p>\n
